April snow
Ever so gently
Alights upon the tender greens
Struggling to emerge from a slumbering earth.
Like a lover
Who cannot bear to leave his beloved’s bed
Winter returns for a final kiss
Maybe two
Or three.
I cannot begrudge him this.
